Air freshener - Elmwood - initial design ideas

As this brief was a really fast turn-around, I wanted to develop a design digitally, focusing my attention on how air fresheners disperse their smell and how smells interact and how this could be displayed visually.

Entwining smells…

Altering the angle and composition of type to create the idea of movement.

Air particles...

Adding in a sense of feminism and flowers to associate pretty smells, however the approach was too cliche. I also tried editing the effects of the type to create the idea of Air and Odour through the use of blur.

Dispersion...

Approaching the logo from a more respectful and luxurious angle, using type that is related to the origin of the air freshener. French inspired, art deco inspired typeface.

As time began to quickly pass by, I was tempted to use the following as my final designs however it's provided a great stepping stone towards the final branding of my air freshener brand. This was a result of my interest in the website I'd proposed which I thought was quite innovative concerning the subject matter and its educational aspect of interactivity and viewing how the air freshener actually works when dispersed.
