Sunset Cottage - Research/ Drawings

Janet was certain that she wanted a traditional type with a contemporary twist in the logo. We also decided that it would be a better idea to create a logo that represented the surroundings of the Cottage, in other words, its unique selling point.

Research into a Castle branding that is severely contemporary, created through the type & logo. Would a serif type-face balance this?

Sunset

Could be the roof of sunset cottage with light emitting from the centre just as 'scope' demonstrates. The point shares synergy with the Cottage's roof shape.

Clean, Modern, Heritage.

The postcard below shows the client getting in touch and exchanging a few kind words, she did this as a cover for her memory stick and once we'd received all of the information i.e. documents

I was in control of all the branding and applications and Greg took control of coding the website while we both designed the conceptual side of the website. I began designing the logo for Sunset Cottage based on its USP/ surroundings.

For myself this brief was smoother starting than a lot of others so it worked well that I was using this as my first undertaken brief. This is because everything that has been sourced informationally has been Primary. The designing of the logo has been made huge amounts easier due to the fact that I knew the client and it wasn't awkward to openly conversate about what she wanted and what she wanted to change etc. The designs below show myself experimenting with different compositions.

The idea was to create a badge/ logo that was constructed from berry bushes, sunsets and sea's.

Quick sketches of potential applications...
